Adopt a Tree today for a Better Tomorrow: A Message from Sabakuch

Adopt a Tree – ‘’Let us be good stewards of the earth we inherited. If we are to go on living together on this earth, we must all be responsible for it’’ – Kofi Annan

Trees play a crucial role in improving our quality of life in modern age cities where unsightly structures and activities and hard lines of buildings are removed from our sight, by lush-green natural trees.

The adopting and planting of trees and their care and preservation can go a long way to making our cities a great place to live, work learn and relax.

In this aspect, New Delhi based startup – Sabakuch.com is about to launch a Green Delhi Drive along with a Adopt A Tree Campaign

What is SBK Adopt A Tree?

This campaign is a powerful way to make contribution to our environment. By being responsible for adopting a sapling or adopting it to life, we can leave a positive mark on planet Earth.

Sabakuch will take up a social cause under its Green Delhi Initiative. The initiative will run a campaign with the title – ‘’Adopt A Tree’’, to spread awareness about deforestation, growing pollution and benefits of having trees in the city of Delhi.

Meant to last 45 days, the campaign will kick-off from July 5, 2018. New Delhi’s heart Connaught Place will become witness to a big inaugural ceremony. At the launch, adoption of trees will take place in front of the citizens of the city.

Here are some details:

Venue: Rajiv Chowk Metro Station, Gate no.2, Connaught Place, Delhi
Time: 3 pm

Why #AdoptATree?

There is a need to encourage individuals to plant and care for native species of trees. According to recent reports Delhi’s green cover or forest area has reduced to 13% in 2017.

The recent order by government to cut down 16,500 trees in the city will only worsen the situation. As per a new report by WHO, Delhi is world’s most polluted city in India. Thus, there is a need to have #GreenDelhi and clean delhi.

By not caring for trees we will make it unlivable for our children and ourselves. #AdoptATree is like a pledge that we take to protect, nurture, and preserve the trees around us.

Trees and us, are dependent on each other in order to keep a healthy eco-system. Cutting down trees not only affects us humans but also affects the birds and animals that live on it.
