Cracking engineering entrance exam is no easy task, especially when it is JEE Main exam. Scoring 350 marks in that exam is no easy task either, but Vijaywada’s Bhogi Suraj Krishna has made it look easy.

  1. Suraj Krishna comes from the southern city of India; Vijaywada. His father is a businessman while his mother is a homemaker.

  1. Securing good marks in JEE exam is a dream of many students. Suraj Krishna secured a whopping 350 out 360 marks. He himself was surprised to see this in the JEE Main 2018 result answer keys by CBSE.

  1. Most of the students prepare for engineering entrance test by mugging notes. Sometimes even trying to rote learn mock test papers and online test series. However, Krishna’s tip is to learn and understanding each topic.

  1. In an interview, he speaks about his love for science. He read NCERT book chapters thoroughly. Consulting teachers or mock test websites is also an option for those in doubt.

  1. Physics Strategy:

  • Bhogi Suraj Krishna’s first advice is to solve JEE Main sample papers for last 5 years. For Physics, one can refer to HC Verma book. According to him, the non-mechanical part in Physics is crucial.

  • Other critical topics to practice mock papers online include:
Magnetic effects, current electricity, optics.

  1. Chemistry:

  • According to Suraj Krishna, Inorganic chemistry needs to be given more attention by candidates. Constant practice of JEE Main sample papers on chemical arithmetic and equations and their revision is needed.

  • For Organic and Physical Chemistry, NCERT books and last 5 years’ online test series is sufficient

  1. Mathematics:

  • The 2018 JEE Main topper believes that 50% of the questions in his exam were from Calculus and Probability.

  • Reference books along with mock test is what he studies maths from.


  1. In class 9, he made up his mind to up engineering as a career. Krishna wants to do computer engineering due to his deep interest in this field.
