Girls’ Education to Get a Boost: Apple Joins Malala Fund in India
Tech giant Apple has teamed up with the Malala Fund. And, this has led to a wave of happiness among those who sincerely seek to strengthen girl education in India. This has great potential even for online exam website and distance education students.
Girls’ Education to Get a Boost –
The coming together of these two ‘revolutionaries’ is going to double the number of grants. These grants are for the children. Malala Fund is led by Nobel Peace Prize winner Malala Yousafzai.
With Apple CEO Tim Cook’s support, Malala Fund expects to double the number of grants awarded by its Gulmakai Network. It will also extend funding programmes to India and Latin America. eLearning and distance education programs with online mock papers are also to benefit.
Goal of Malala Fund –
This tie up is has the initial goal of taking secondary education opportunities to over 100,000 girls. Apple made the following statement this past week. ‘’ Apple will become the fund’s first Laureate partner, enabling a significant expansion of Yousafzai’s effort to support girl education and advocate for equal opportunity’’.
The 20-year-old Pakistani, and youngest Nobel Peace Prize winner says, ‘’ My dream is for every girl to choose her own future.’’
“Through both their innovations and philanthropy, Apple has helped educate and empower people around the world. I am grateful that Apple knows the value of investing in girls and is joining Malala Fund in the fight to ensure all girls can learn and lead without fear,” she said.
About Gulmakai Network –
The fund’s Gulmakai Network currently supports educational programmes in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Lebanon, Turkey and Nigeria. It also very popular among online exam website in India.
The Network is named after the pseudonym that Malala used when she was just 11-years-old. She wrote a blog for the BBC at that time about life under Talibani regime.
