5 Essential Things to Know about JEE Main 2018 Examination

 

 The CBSE has come out with the dates for JEE Main 2018, leaving best Indian social networking sites abuzz. On April 8, 2018, the D-day would seal the fate of thousands of aspirants. The aspirants, who desire to get admission to bachelors courses in engineering to various colleges in the country. The hopes of their career depends on this examination.


Following are 5 Essential Things to Remember about the JEE Main 2018 examination –

Aadhar Card Mandatory 

Now this is a must-remember thing for all candidates who plan to write this exam. Keep your Aadhaar cards ready. Since these cards are already mandatory in CBSE schools, so CBSE school students are expected to already have them handy. However, most state boards do not have this system. So, such students from state boards better be ready with Aadhaar. Candidates who are not Indian Citizens, may however, be allowed to provide their passport number.
 
Two Papers
  
JEE Main 2018 examination will consist of two papers:

Paper I – for admission to B.E./B.Tech. The Paper I also acts as a qualifier for JEE Advanced 2018 examination.

Paper II – Students willing to gain admission to architecture courses will have to attempt Paper II.

Mode of Examination


The Paper I for JEE Main would be both offline (pen and paper based), and online tests (computer based). Practice through mock papers online can be a good way to practice for these.

The Paper II is only offline exam. However, these modes are subject to change by the CBSE. But, at the moment there has been no information on any change on any e-learning website.


Ranking for Admission to NITs

The JEE Main rank determines your admission to NITs OR National Institutes of Technology. These are very significant institutes across India as students on best Indian social networking sites would tell you.  A minimum requirement of 75 percent marks in 12th boards or position in the top 20 percentile would be a requirement along with a rank in JEE Main 2018 examination.


Online Application Forms

The application form has been released on 1st December, 2017. Carefully fill the form with these instructions:

  • Scan images of passport size and upload them with signature of candidate & guardian.
  • Images should be either in JPG or JPEG format.
  • Mention the name and date of taking photograph in the image
  • Candidates also have to book exam slotwhile filling up the application form.
  • After the fee payment confirmation, students should take the print copy of the confirmation page for further use.
  • No need to send printed confirmation page to CBSE
