Board Exam 2018: Minimum Scores to Pass Class 10, 12

 

The countdown to Board Exam 2018 has begun. The heartbeats of many students in India slowly begins to rise from the month of December for the final showdown in March next year.

Board examinations in India refer to the annual public examinations. They take place at the end of 9th – 10th grade education. Or, after the 11th – 12th grade education. Gaining admission to various universities or professional courses, depend on the scores of these Board exams.

So, here are the minimum marks that you need to pass standard 10 and 12 papers.

  1. CBSE –

The Central Board of Secondary Education has set the bar at 33 per cent for both, CBSE Class 10 and CBSE Board Class 12.

Students need minimum 33 per cent in the internals and practical to pass a subject. They also need 33 per cent in the CBSE board exam theory, to clear the whole subject. This is the popular board exam 2018 and is currently trending on best Indian social networking sites. Free mock papers for it are available on e-learning portals.

  1. ICS –

There has been some change in the ISC (Indian School Certificate). Candidates no longer need 40 per cent in 12 or 35 per cent in class 10.

The new marks are now set at 35 per cent.


  1. Kerala Board –

Students appearing for Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) standard 10, need 30 per cent in each subject. Students who secure the D+ grade (30 to 39 per cent) in the SSLC papers are eligible to appear for the Save-A-Year (SAY) exams.

For the Higher Secondary Examinations (class 12), students need to score a minimum aggregate of 30 per cent in continuous evaluation (CE), practical evaluation (PE) and terminal evaluation (TE).


  1. Telangana (TSBIE) –
The Board of Secondary Education (BSE) and the Board of Intermediate Education (BIE) conduct the class 10 (SSC) and plus two exams in the state. The minimum score required to pass the board exams in Telangana is 35 per cent.

For intermediate exams, the division in which the candidates are placed is decided on the basis of their passing all the papers in year one and two.

  1. Gujarat Board (GSEB) –

The board conducting exams in Gujarat is the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSEB)

The Board has already brought down the pass marks for the board exams from 35 per cent to 33 per cent per subject in 2010.


  1. Tamil Nadu (TN Board) –

The class 10 and intermediate examinations in Tamil Nadu are held by the Directorate of Government Examinations (DGE).

Higher Secondary Examinations (class 12) – the minimum aggregate score is 70 out of 200. Students must score at least 40 out of 150 marks in theory exams and 30 out of 50 marks in practical exams.

SSLC exams – the pass marks are at an aggregate of 35 per cent.


  1. Karnataka (KSEEB) –

In this state, the board exam 2018 will be under Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board (KSEEB). This is for SSLC and the Department of Pre University Education for PUC exams.
The minimum marks required to pass the PUC exams is 35 per cent in aggregate. Students will need to score a minimum of 70 marks in the language papers and 30 marks each in individual subjects for a total of 210 out of 600 marks.

  1. Madhya Pradesh (MPBSE):

The Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary Education (MPBSE) conducts the Higher Secondary School Certificate Exam (HSSCE) in the state. For board exam 2018, it has set the minimum score at 33 per cent. Details about it are also on best indian social networking sites.


  1. West Bengal (WBCHSE) –

The West Bengal State Council of Higher Education (WBSCHE) conducts the board exams in the state. In order to clear, a student has to secure a minimum of 30 per cent in all compulsory subjects.

The mark division has been at 90 points each for the subjects since 2011. There are also 10 points awarded for internal evaluation.


  1. Odisha –

In Odisha, the minimum marks to pass the HSC examinations is 30 per cent. All students who score at least 33 per cent but less than 45 per cent will be sought to have passed in the third division.
